Torre Pacheco Town Hall announces reduced water bills to make up for drinking water cuts in October
The reductions will be reflected in the next water bills received by residents of Torre Pacheco and its golf resorts
Following the lead set by Los Alcázares and San Javier earlier in the week, the Town Hall of Torre Pacheco and the local water supply company (Hidrogea) will be reducing their bills for the fourth quarter of 2025 to reflect the 10 days or so during which tap water was not drinkable following the flooding caused by Storm Alice.
The lower bills will apply only to the parts of Torre Pacheco which were affected.
Both the Town Hall and Hidrogea will be seeking help in financing this move from the Mancomunidad de Canales del Taibilla, which is responsible for the water supply infrastructures that let the coast of the Mar Menor down following the heavy rain.
The discounts will be reflected automatically in the next water bills issued, with a reduction in the rates for water supply and sewage. However, the rate for water treatment (“depuración de aguas”) may still appear.
In the meantime, a reminder that for the last few weeks there has been an information service for those who were affected by the disruption at the Local Development agency (Paseo Villa Esperanza, 5, email Desarrollo.local@torrepacheco.es, telephone 968 585838).
All information gathered will be delivered directly to the Mancomunidad de Canales del Taibilla in order for compensation claims to be processed, and no deadline for taking advantage of this facility has yet been set. The form for claims can be found online here.
