Guidelines for submitting articles to Condado Today
Hello, and thank you for choosing CondadoToday.com to publicise your organisation’s info or event.
Condado Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on Condado Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?

July 20 to 24 The Perkexick International Percussion Festival in Alhama de Murcia
4 days of percussion instruction and evening concerts in Alhama
The latest edition of the Perkexick International Percussion Festival is taking place in Alhama de Murcia from 20th to 24th July, where the events open to the general public are being held at the Casa de Cultura, while the percussion camp and course are hosted by the Finca “El Collado” in the municipality of Mazarrón.
Among those taking part are some of the most important percussionists in Spain (and indeed internationally), with the programme including not only concerts but also educational days and masterclasses.
Among the events scheduled are the following:
Sunday July 20
9.00: The performance competition (categories A and B), admission free of charge.
11.45 to 16.00: The musical instruction days begin with presentations by Neus Fontestad, Iván García and Antonio Domingo, concluding with a round table. Admission is free of charge.
20.30: A concert entitled “Entre 3 Mundos”, the inaugural gala with Magdalena Myrczik, Iván García amd Javier Vidal. Admission 3 euros.
Monday July 21
21.30: “Flamencusión”, a concert by Alejandro Solano. Admission 8 euros (6 euros for those qualifying for reduced ticket rates).
Tuesday July 22
21.30: A concert entitled “Abandonar la llengua pròpia” is offered by Sisco Aparici. Admission 6 euros (4 euros for those qualifying for reduced ticket rates).
Wednesday July 24
21.30: “Raíces: Emocionalidad, Percusión y Tradición”, a concert by the students on the Perkexick camp and course. Admission free of charge with prior reservations.
In addition, a season ticket for all three paying events is available at 13 euros (10 euros for those qualifying for reduced ticket rates).

The course at the Finca “El Collado” in Mazarrón runs from 21st to 24th July and is intended for students and musicians of all levels, with special focus on the following areas:
Pedagogic percussion (with Neus Fontestad, Antonio Domingo and Iván García)
Percussion solos (with Sisco Aparici and Magdalena Myrczik)
Classical percussion (with Paco Inglés and Grati Murcia)
Ethnic percussion (with Alejandro Solano and Javier Vidal)
Ancient percussion (with Enrique González).

Oficina de Turismo de Alhama de Murcia
Alhama de Murcia Tourist information office is located on the edge of the Plaza de la Constitución, just a few metres away from the underground car park and the Town hall of Alhama de Murcia.
The tourist office offers free guided audiotours in English which take visitors around the historical sites of interest in Alhama. These be loaned at any time, although allow an hour and a half to complete the tour, and when loaning the audio equipment visitors are asked to leave passports or ID cards with the tourist office.
The office also carries a full range of leaflets for the archaeological museum of Los Baños, which is built around the historic spa which gives Alhama its name, and the mountains of Sierra Espuña, which is also an important area within the municipality of Alhama. Areas such as El Berro and Gebas have a number of interesting routes which can be followed and there are several picnic areas and good walking routes within the Sierra Espuña natural park.
The tourist office also carries leaflets for the many cultural events and fiestas which take place in Alhama throughout the year, including Los Mayos, Semana Santa, Christmas,the Romería of La Candelaria and the Auto de los Reyes Magos in El Berro.
