January 18 Enjoy the traditional chicken meatballs of Pozo Estrecho
Pozo Estrecho celebrates its fiestas in honour of San Fulgencio by handing out thousands of ‘pelotas galileas’, the typical local delicacy
The town of Pozo Estrecho, between Cartagena and the Mar Menor, is holding its annual patron saint fiestas in honour of San Fulgencio until Saturday January 18, with the last day being reserved for the traditional serving of free (and delicious!) "pelotas gaflileas" in a tasty chicken broth.
The day begins with an esparto grass workshop for adults at 11.00, while at the same time the children can learn how to prepare the "pelotas" themselves. Registration afor both activities is on 649 318495.
Competitions and official presentations follow before the warming lunch is served at the Huerto de Paco Saura fairground at 14.30, and an hour later music is provided by a DJ throughout the afternoon.
