Spain weather forecast May 14-17: Sunshine returns but some showers still around
Warmer temperatures are set to spread across much of mainland Spain over the next few days

Average temperatures in Spain on Saturday May 16
Spain is heading into a mixed but gradually warmer stretch of weather over the next few days, with sunshine and rising temperatures expected across much of the mainland as the weekend approaches.
Southern and eastern parts of the country are likely to enjoy the best of the conditions, with plenty of dry spells and daytime highs climbing into the mid to high 20s in some areas. Further north, especially along the Cantabrian coast, there’s still a risk of showers, cloud and cooler temperatures at times.
Night-time temperatures are also set to become milder in many areas as we head into Sunday, making it feel much more like late spring across large parts of the country.
Thursday May 14

Thursday looks set to bring a fairly settled day for most of Spain, especially across Andalucia, Murcia, the Valencian Community and large parts of central areas including Madrid.
Sunny intervals are expected across the south with cities such as Malaga likely to reach around 23ºC, with very little chance of rain. Madrid should also stay dry with temperatures close to 23ºC during the afternoon.
The Mediterranean coast is expected to enjoy pleasant spring weather with light winds and warm sunshine developing through the day. Inland areas of Castilla-La Mancha and Extremadura should also stay mostly dry.
Northern regions including Asturias, Cantabria and parts of the Basque Country could see more cloud cover and scattered showers, with temperatures staying cooler at around 13ºC to 17ºC in places.
Friday May 15

A slightly more unsettled pattern may develop on Friday in some central and northern inland areas, bringing the possibility of showers later in the day.
Temperatures are expected to dip slightly in Madrid and parts of the interior, although southern Spain should continue to see comfortable conditions with sunny spells and highs around 22ºC to 25ºC. Coastal areas in Alicante, Murcia and Almeria are likely to stay dry for most of the day.
Northern Spain may once again see the wettest conditions, especially along Atlantic-facing coastal areas where occasional rain and breezy conditions are possible.
Even with a few showers around, many parts of the country should still see long bright periods, especially during the afternoon.
Saturday May 16

Saturday is shaping up to be one of the better days of the week for much of mainland Spain.
Temperatures are expected to climb again across central and southern regions, with highs potentially reaching 26ºC or 27ºC in parts of Andalucia and the Guadalquivir valley. The Mediterranean coast should continue to enjoy warm spring sunshine with lighter winds than earlier in the week.
The north may still see occasional cloud and isolated showers, particularly in Galicia and Asturias, although there should also be brighter intervals developing through the afternoon.
Sunday May 17

Sunday currently looks like the warmest and sunniest day of the period for many parts of Spain.
Temperatures are expected to rise further across inland and southern areas, with cities such as Seville, Cordoba and Murcia likely to enjoy early summer-like conditions. Malaga is forecast to remain sunny with highs around 22ºC, while Madrid could reach around 25ºC under brighter skies.
Beach areas along the Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol are expected to see plenty of sunshine and light winds.
Further north, there’s still the chance of patchy rain in some coastal areas, although conditions should improve compared with earlier in the week and temperatures are expected to edge upwards there too.
