Six Murcian companies make Spain's top 250 retailers
From electronics to supermarkets and cosmetics, six Murcian companies are now competing with Spain's biggest retailers

People think Murcia is just a quiet farming region, but its retail sector is growing fast. Six companies from the Region are now among the 250 largest in Spain, according to a ranking by Informa D&B and elEconomista.
The list includes electronics company PcComponentes, SuperDumbo supermarkets, cosmetics brand Marvimundo, clothing chain Inside by Liwe, sports equipment retailer Pádel Nuestro, and Sangüi supermarkets.
The companies are very different from each other. Only the supermarket sector appears more than once, and they are based in several towns, with just two in the city of Murcia.
Leading the regional list is PcComponentes. The Alhama-based electronics and appliances company recorded €561 million in revenue in 2024, putting it 42nd in Spain. Including its international business, the total rises to €730 million.
Next is Nagarmur, which operates SuperDumbo, with €176 million in turnover. Alguazas-based Marvimundo follows closely with €168 million.
Liwe Española, owner of the well-known Inside clothing stores, had a difficult year. Revenue dropped 14% during a business restructuring, leaving it fourth with €109 million.
The list also includes Topco Pádel, which runs Pádel Nuestro in Alcantarilla, with €50 million in sales. Pádel Nuestro has grown quickly from a small online shop into an international brand, with stores across Europe and plans to open in the U.S. and other markets. Its growth comes at a time when padel is exploding worldwide, with new courts and clubs popping up everywhere and more people picking up the sport than ever before.
Murcia may be the 'garden of Spain,' but it’s much more than quiet towns and farmland! Its location on the Mediterranean corridor and its growing business scene mean Murcian companies are now competing on a much bigger stage.
