October 6 Free guided hike to Peñarrodada and Hoya de los Izquierdos in the mountains of Mazarron
Explore the countryside on a fairly easy 10-kilometre route near the town of Mazarrón
This hike in the mountains close to Mazarrón takes walkers to Peñarrodada, a rocky outcrop in the area known as Montechaparral, on the western slopes of the Sierra del Algarrobo to the north of the town. The 10-kilometre circular route is not an especially hard one but may be testing for inexperienced walkers, and adequate footwear (not sandals!), at least a litre of drinking water and Nordic walking poles are advised.
Prior registration is required and is available online here, with participants asked to supply ID or passport number and indicate if any members of the group are under 18. The meeting point will be sent to participants after their registration. The hike begins at 9.00.
Dogs are not permitted.
Further information is available from the tourist office in Puerto de Mazarrón (Plaza Toneleros, telephone 968 594426, email oficinaturismomazarron@gmail.com).
