Montessori British School Murcia in the Top 3 of most desirable schools in the Region
A new study found that parents value the education on offer at the prestigious Murcia British school
A school that follows the UK curriculum in the Region of Murcia, the Montessori British School Murcia, has placed third in a survey ranking the best schools in the Region 2024, compiled by school search engine Micole.
The study includes public schools, semi-public subsidised schools and private schools, and takes into account “the opinions and interest in the centres shown by families”. It also relies on search engine information about the schools, requests for visits; and the quantity and quality of the reviews of the schools on Google Places.
“We are convinced that it is the families themselves who determine which are the best schools in Murcia based on the interest they have shown in some centres,” said a spokesperson from Micole.
The Montessori British School Murcia in Murcia city teaches pupils the UK curriculum according to international standards using the much-feted Montessori method that is based on placing students’ holistic development and agency at the centre of the learning process. It is an international school with a virtual programme designed for Nomad families, and is an accredited Pearson Edexcel examination centre for iGCSE, A- Levels and BTECs (Esports, Music and Art&Design).
The Montessori British School came third in the Micole ranking, just behind the Colegio San Jorge Murcia and the Colegio Salzillo School, both of which are in Molina de Segura. This means that the Montessori British School, which offers early years, primary and secondary education, as well as International Baccalaureate education, has gone up two places in the rankings since last year.

The Montessori British School in Murcia offers the highest quality education for your children based on the UK curriculum, combined with the world-famous and highly sought-after Montessori methodology of teaching.
What is Montessori?
The Montessori method departs from traditional teaching practices by placing the child’s interests, capacity to choose and natural abilities at the heart of the learning environment, rather than focusing on fitting all students into rigid, one-size-fits-all boxes.
It is so popular with parents because it recognises their children as individuals and nurtures their natural curiosity in a collaborative way.
“CHARACTER CANNOT BE TAUGHT, AS IT COMES FROM EXPERIENCE, NOT FROM EXPLANATION.”
– Maria Montessori
