Intense July heat brings 43 degrees to Murcia this week: Forecast July 8-14
Spain’s Met Office is forecasting temperatures of up to 43ºC in the shade this week
After some rain in parts of inland Murcia this weekend, the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) is for more sunshine and temperatures rising up to around 40ºC again.
The rain around Moratalla and other parts of central and northern Murcia mean that streams are almost full to bursting, spelling good news for the water situation in the Region.

The rain also brought a slight lull in temperatures, which carries over to Monday July 8, when clouds will hang around for most of the morning and maximum temperatures will only get up to 33ºC.
However, from Monday afternoon onwards, and looking towards the rest of the week, we are in for long, unbroken spells of sunshine with few clouds and temperatures on the up.
In fact, both minimum and maximum temperatures will rise, so that by Wednesday 10 there is a yellow-level heat warning active between 1pm and 9pm in the central and northeastern parts of Murcia for extremely high temperatures of up to 39ºC, though it could feel like more, especially in the sun.
Murcia weather warnings, Wednesday July 10
Aemet only issues its weather alerts three days in advance, and so there are no other weather warnings currently active for Murcia yet this week, even though temperatures are due to rise even further on Thursday 11 and Friday 12.
By Thursday, temperatures at night-time in the coolest place in Murcia, the northwest, will not drop below 20ºC, while on the coast it will be around 23ºC. On Friday, maximums during the day will reach up to 33ºC in the south, 37-38ºC around the Mar Menor and up to a possible 43ºC in central places like Murcia city and Cieza!
