Flights from Belgium to Murcia, Alicante and Almeria to be rerouted this Tuesday

A national strike at Brussels airport means that all departing passenger flights have been cancelled for the day
Brussels Airport have announced that, due to a 'national demonstration' on Tuesday October 1 and the announced strike by a majority of the staff with the external security service provider, Brussels Airport is expecting major disruptions to airport operations and will be cancelling or rerouting all departing passenger flights.
A TUIfly Belgium flight from Brussels to the
Region of Murcia International Airport was scheduled for that day at 6.30am, but will now be rerouted to leave from Ostend airport at 10.30am. There will be a bus transfer from Brussels Airport to Ostend at the Departure Hall in front of Check-in Row 11 at 6.30am.
In addition, the TUIfly Belgium flight from Brussels to
Alicante Airport originally scheduled for 12.55pm on October 1 will now be rerouted to leave from Ostend airport at 13.55am. There will be a bus transfer from Brussels Airport to Ostend at the Departure Hall in front of Check-in Row 11 at 10.15am.
The TUIfly Belgium flight from Brussels to
Almería Airport originally scheduled for 6.15am on October 1 will now be rerouted to leave from Ostend airport at 8am. There will be a bus transfer from Brussels Airport to Ostend at the Departure Hall in front of Check-in Row 11 at 4.30am.
Other
Spain flights will also be either rerouted or cancelled for the day.
In a statement, Brussels Airport said, "To ensure the safety of passengers and staff, the airlines, in consultation with Brussels Airport, have decided not to operate any departing passenger flights on 1 October. Airlines will contact passengers whose flights have been impacted. We ask passengers not to travel to the airport on 1 October.
"Arriving passenger flights may operate, but cancellations are likely. We advise all passengers who are scheduled to arrive at Brussels Airport on 1 October to check the status of their flight with their airline or on our website.
"Brussels Airport regrets any inconvenience caused by this action."
