Fiestas in Águilas during November

Theatre comes to the fore, along with Halloween

Fiestas in Águilas during November

The Certamen Nacional de Teatro Aficionado Francisco Rabal and  Noche de Difuntos in the castle

During November Águilas holds an important theatrical festival; the Certamen Nacional de Teatro Aficionado “Paco Rabal” which is held in the Auditorio y Palacio de Congresos Infanta Doña Elena de Águilas, including representations by some of the most important theatrical companies in Spain.

Fiestas in Águilas during NovemberNovember also contains an important night in the Spanish religious calendar; the festival of All Saints and All Souls. Although the religious aspect of this annual pilgrimage to the local cemetery to honour the deceased is an important part of community life, the commercialism of Halloween is also taking a firm hold in Spain and in Águilas the “Noche de difuntos” in Águilas castle combines terror, magic, history and entertainment. Theatrical visits for both children and adults also take place around this date inside the castle.
