Disruption at Alhama Signature Golf Course settles down as owner takes over management
Recent dispute and disruption comes to an end after owners take over management of Jack Nicklaus designed golf course
After complaints from golfers, accusations from the company managing the golf course and an eviction procedure by the owners of the Jack Nicklaus designed Alhama Signature Golf Course on the Condado de Alhama Golf Resort, life seems to have got back to normal as company Alhama Healthy Living S.L., who bought the course around 18 months ago, take over possession and the management of the golf course.
Affairs became a little hectic for a while after complaints were raised about the state of the well-known Alhama Signature Golf Course and facilities resulted in the company contracted to manage the business ‘Club de Golf Isla del Fraile’ made an announcement blaming the owners. In response to this the owner Alhama Healthy Living S.L. issued its own statement terminating the management contract and giving the management company 5 days to vacate the premises.
However when the time came for the owners to take possession of the facilities they issued the following statement “After the deadline granted for the abandonment of the facilities, and when the time came for the owner to recover the means of work for the development of the maintenance tasks of the course, there have been violent episodes by those responsible for the Isla del Fraile Golf Club involving struggles, threats and coercion, with the consequence of the subtraction of various work machines, preventing their use by the owner. This situation has been brought to the attention of the Guardia Civil, who have filed the corresponding complaint”.
Fortunately, the situation has now moved to a more normal footing with owners Alhama Healthy Living S.L. who are also planning to build a new Clubhouse, 2 hotels and a football stadium complex along with sister company Alhama Nature who are also in the process of building an extensive development of villas and apartments, published the following announcement on July 8:
To the Alhama Signature Golf Course Community and to all interested parties,
We would like to inform you that, from now on, Alhama Healthy Living, owner of Alhama Signature Golf, will directly assume the direction and management of the course and its facilities.
A series of structural changes and improvements will be implemented on the course, as well as the completion of the refurbishment of the Proshop, services and cafeteria.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the above. All necessary measures will be taken to minimise any inconvenience and to shorten the intervention times.
The aim is to ensure that in the future the golf course has the optimum conditions it deserves and that subscribers and players can enjoy it and its facilities.
