August 28 Free full moon night hike to the coves of Bolnuevo
A great way to round off August: catch the full moon and the stars on the inspoilt coastline beyond Bolnuevo
As the peak summer season draws to a close in the Costa Cálida there are few better ways to ensure you take away great memories of the warm evenings of the Region of Murcia than this guided walk beginning at 19.45 on Thursday 28th August,
Unfortunately the walk does not coincide with the partial lunar eclipse, which takes place in the early morning of the same day, but this is still a great chance to enjoy the sensational sight of the moon shimmering on the water of the Gulf of Mazarrón as the sun goes down!
From Puntabela walkers follow the coastal path to Playa Amarilla, from where they head along the cliffs to Playa de La Grúa in time for sunset, a snack (bring your own!) and a dip, if you feel like one. The return route is via the wooded path of Loma Ancha and then Playa Amarilla.
The 6.5-kilometre route is an easy one but it is scheduled to take around 3 hours (including stops), and of course as well as sturdy footwear, torches and head torches are indispensable. Don't foget spare batteries!
In addition, drinking water will be needed and Nordic walking poles are advised.
Dogs are not permitted.
Under no circumstances will others be allowed to join the tour without having booked beforehand.
Participants will be informed of the exact starting point after registration and registration can be completed online here or through the tourist office in Puerto de Mazarrón (Plaza Toneleros, telephone 968 594426, email oficinaturismomazarron@gmail.com).
