April 11 to 13 World speedboat championship event in Puerto de Mazarron

Speeds of up to 150 kmh in the bay of El Alamillo in Puerto de Mazarrón!

The new marina in Puerto de Mazarrón will be taken over between April 11 and 13 by a selection of high-performance speedboats as they gather to take part in races which form part of the 2025 UIM World Championship in the ENDURANCE CLASS B category.

Specifically, races are scheduled in the “promotion 150, boat production 300 and class sport 450” categories, in which the numerals refer to the cc capacity of the competing craft, each of which is manned by a pilot and co-pilot. These boats can reach speeds of up to 150km/h (approximately 93 mph) so spectators along the shore on Paseo de Rihuete and in the area of El Alamillo are in for some spectacular entertainment!

After the Mazarrón races the championship moves on to Blankenberge in Belgium in June, with the third date in Oregrund (Sweden) in late July. It’s then on to Como in Italy and then Malta in October.

The schedule for the world championship weekend in Puerto de Mazarrón is as follows (although other regional events are also taking place:

FRIDAY, 11^th APRIL

12.00 to 14.00 and 15.30 to 19.00: Race registration and technical verifications

21:00 h.- Closing park

SATURDAY, 12^th APRIL

9.00 to 9.30: Race registration and technical verifications

10.00: Pilots Briefing (obligatory for all pilots)

12.30 to 13.30: Free time practice

16.30: First heat of WC

20.00: Closing park

SUNDAY, 13^th APRIL 2025

9.00: Opening park

11.00: Free time practice, 30 minutes

13.00: Second heat of WC

15.30: Prize-giving
