The junior members of worldwide Lions International organisation
The Mazarrón Bahia Alpha Leos meet at the Camposol Cultural Centre on Camposol B at 7pm on the first and third Friday of every month.
The Club is open to children aged 12 - 18 years and they welcome new members to the growing pride of Leo cubs!
The group focus on practical activities which involve young people in their local community.
The Club was formed and is sponsored by the Mazarrón Bahia Lions and received its own Charter Certificate, which is confirmation of the Club's Membership within the International Lions Club Organisation, on the 22nd January 2014.
Mazarrón Bahia Lions were the first Leo's Club established on mainland Spain, there are now a total of six, and in 2016, just two years after the Club’s formation, they proudly received the award of Best Leo Club in Spain.
LEO stands for Leadership, Experience & Opportunity. Club Members elect their own President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer with further elected responsible people in the areas of Fundraising, Social and Welfare and community fundraising and events, such as the Camposol Fiesta.
They also assist other local Charities and enjoy undertaking environmental projects. These are areas close to the Club's heart and provide members with the opportunity of being able to work alongside, and get to know people of all ages in the Community a little better.
As Leos, they also know how to have fun, and enthusiastically make every project into an enjoyable experience. When time allows the Leos like to get out and about. They have been 'treasure' hunting, Geocaching, camping, checking the status of their environmental projects and also enjoy organised games and sports, which bond them as a Group.
